Notice that I use the word much with the noun water because water is an uncountable noun.

I used the word many with the noun students because students are countable.

Let's see how to form these equal comparisons.

The structure goes like this.

Subject plus verb, then as, much or many, plus noun as, then a noun or noun phrase.

We also use as-as comparisons to express inequality about amounts.

For example, if my plants did not need the same amount of water, I could say this star aloe does not need as much water as this jade plant.
