Continuing our verb theme, now we will learn how to use auxiliaries.

Remember that auxiliary verbs are helping verbs.

We use them with main verbs.
ما معمولاً این ساختار یا عبارت را در چنین کاربردی به کار می‌بریم.
We can use auxiliary verbs for a number of different purposes.
ما می‌توانیم از افعال کمکی برای اهداف مختلفی استفاده کنیم.

بیشتر آنا سیب دوست دارد اما جیم سیب دوست ندارد.
Remember that the auxiliary must agree with the main verb.

That is, auxiliary verbs must be in the same tense as the main verb.
یعنی افعال کمکی باید هم زمان با فعل اصلی باشند.

او به پنج زبان صحبت می‌کند، نه؟
I started my new job yesterday, did you?
من دیروز کار جدیدم را شروع کردم، تو چطور؟
To demonstrate the use of auxiliary verbs, watch the following dialogue.

She does look pretty fat, you should learn to be honest with her.
اون خیلی چاق به نظر میاد، باید یاد بگیری باهاش صادق باشی.

What auxiliary verbs did you pick up from that scene?
چه افعال کمکی از آن صحنه یاد گرفتید؟
What were their purposes, were they used to add emphasis?
هدف از آنها چه بود، آیا برای تأکید بیشتر استفاده می‌شدند؟
Did they help to form tag questions, were they used to show interest in something?
آیا آنها به شکل گیری سوالات برچسب کمک کردند، آیا از آنها برای نشان دادن علاقه به چیزی استفاده شد؟
Here's the scene again without subtitles, see which auxiliary verbs you can hear and for what purpose?

نه، ندارم، فقط داری میگی، انگار چاقم.
She does look pretty fat.
او واقعاً چاق به نظر می‌رسد.
You should learn to be honest with her, that's a big part of marriage, not as big as her but still really big.
باید یاد بگیری باهاش صادق باشی، این بخش بزرگی از ازدواجه، البته نه به بزرگی اون، ولی بازم خیلی مهمه.
No, she isn't fat at all.
نه، او اصلاً چاق نیست.
You're not being honest with me, you don't love me, I don't want to marry you anymore.
تو با من صادق نیستی، تو مرا دوست نداری، من دیگر نمی‌خواهم با تو ازدواج کنم.
That's enough about verbs, now we'll focus on nouns.
در مورد افعال کافی است، حالا روی اسم‌ها تمرکز می‌کنیم.
Do you know what suffixes are?
آیا می‌دانید پسوندها چه هستند؟
Suffixes are word endings that show whether a word is a verb, an adjective, an adverb or a noun.
پسوندها پایانه‌های کلمات هستند که نشان می‌دهند یک کلمه فعل، صفت، قید یا اسم است.
We will look at suffixes that form nouns.
ما به پسوندهایی که اسم می‌سازند نگاه خواهیم کرد.
Nests, kindness, sadness, madness, ANCE or ENCE, allowance, independence, patience, ship, relationship, membership, citizenship, ION, SION and TION, religion, confusion, competition, ITY, IETY and Y, curiosity and anxiety, ER, teacher, driver, cleaner, MENT, unemployment, disappointment, improvement, ING, doing, walking.

As you can tell, suffixes make a big difference to the meaning of words.
همانطور که می‌بینید، پسوندها تفاوت زیادی در معنای کلمات ایجاد می‌کنند.
Let's see which suffixes are used to form nouns in our next dialogue.
بیایید ببینیم در گفتگوی بعدی‌مان از کدام پسوندها برای تشکیل اسم استفاده می‌شود.
I have to say that you are starting to lack kindness in your old age.

Well, if that's all I'm lacking, I'm doing for you all.
خب، اگه فقط همین کم دارم، برای همتون انجامش میدم.
I would like to do without you for a change, you are so rude to me and that's not a very good relationship.
برای تنوع هم که شده دوست دارم بدون تو زندگی کنم، تو خیلی با من بی‌ادبی و این رابطه‌ی خیلی خوبی نیست.
I think that there is some confusion on your part.

This isn't a friendship at all.
این اصلا رسم دوستی نیست
I don't even like you, I just don't have the energy to move away from you.
من حتی ازت خوشم نمیاد، فقط انرژی اینکه ازت دور بشم رو ندارم.
Perhaps you should call for a taxi and the driver can throw you in the boot with the rest of the old bags.
شاید بهتر باشد تاکسی بگیرید و راننده شما را با بقیه‌ی چمدان‌های قدیمی در صندوق عقب بیندازد.
It's the curiosity of wondering when you will completely lose your mind that keeps me here.
این کنجکاوی و تعجب از این است که کی کاملاً عقلت را از دست خواهی داد که مرا اینجا نگه داشته است.
If it weren't for that, I would call for the men in white jackets to come and take you away.
اگر چنین موقعیتی پیش بیاید، این جمله یا عبارت به کار می‌رود.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
نه، نه، نه، نه، نه، نه، نه.
Did you see the various suffixes used to create noun forms in the subtitles?
آیا پسوندهای مختلفی که برای ساختن اسم در زیرنویس‌ها استفاده می‌شوند را دیدید؟
Ness, A-N-C-E or E-N-C-E, Ship, I-O-N, S-I-O-N, T-I-O-N, I-T-Y, I-E-T-Y and Y, E-R, Ment-ing.
نس، ا-ن-سی-ای یا ا-ن-سی-ای، شیپ، آی-او-ان، اس-ای-او-ان، تی-او-ان، آی-تی-وای، آی-ای-تی-وای و وای، ای-آر، منت-ینگ.
See if you can hear them this time, but without the subtitles.
ببینید آیا این بار می‌توانید آنها را بشنوید، اما بدون زیرنویس.
I have to say that you are starting to lack kindness in your old age.
گوینده از تجربه یا چیزی که دارد صحبت می‌کند.
Well, if that's all I'm lacking, I'm doing for you all.
خب، اگه فقط همین کم دارم، برای همتون انجامش میدم.
I would like to do without you for a change.
برای تنوع هم که شده، دوست دارم بدون تو زندگی کنم.
You're so rude to me and that's not a very good relationship.
تو خیلی با من بدرفتاری می‌کنی و این رابطه‌ی خیلی خوبی نیست.
I think that there is some confusion on your part.
فکر می‌کنم از جانب شما نوعی سردرگمی وجود دارد.
This isn't a friendship at all.
این اصلا رسم دوستی نیست
I don't even like you.
من حتی از تو خوشم هم نمیاد.
I just don't have the energy to move away from you.
من فقط انرژی لازم برای دور شدن از تو را ندارم.
It's been fun exploring in the different types of word forms.
کاوش در انواع مختلف شکل‌های کلمه سرگرم‌کننده بوده است.
So far, we've covered verbs and nouns.
تا اینجا، افعال و اسم‌ها را بررسی کردیم.
Can you guess what's coming up?
می‌تونید حدس بزنید چی قراره اتفاق بیفته؟
They are my favourite type of word, adjectives.
صفت‌ها، نوع کلمات مورد علاقه‌ی من هستند.
Look at these sentences.
به این جملات نگاه کنید.
Anna watched her ball bounce across the road.
آنا توپش را تماشا کرد که از روی جاده بالا و پایین پرید.
There were hats on the shelf.
کلاه‌هایی روی قفسه بود.
They're fine but are not very interesting.
خوبن ولی زیاد جالب نیستن
To make them more interesting, we add describing words, adjectives.
برای جالب‌تر کردن آنها، کلمات و صفت‌های توصیفی اضافه می‌کنیم.
Remember that adjectives describe a noun or a pronoun.
یادتان باشد که این نکته برای استفاده‌ی درست از ساختار مهم است.
Anna watched her large green ball bounce across the wide gravel road.
آنا توپ سبز بزرگش را تماشا کرد که روی جاده شنی پهن بالا و پایین می‌پرید.
There were hats on the shelf.
کلاه‌هایی روی قفسه بود.
They were black, pointy hats, the kind a witch would wear.
آنها کلاه‌های سیاه و نوک‌تیز بودند، از آن‌هایی که جادوگران می‌پوشند.
The adjectives give us more information about the nouns and pronouns and so make the sentences more interesting.
صفت‌ها اطلاعات بیشتری در مورد اسم‌ها و ضمایر به ما می‌دهند و بنابراین جملات را جالب‌تر می‌کنند.
We can form adjectives from other words by adding a suffix to the end.
ما می‌توانیم با اضافه کردن یک پسوند به انتهای کلمات دیگر، صفت بسازیم.
For example, the noun's power and value become powerful, valuable.
برای مثال، گوینده یک نمونه برای روشن‌تر شدن کاربرد می‌آورد.
The adjectives of feeling have two forms ending with -ed and -ing.
صفات مربوط به احساسات دو حالت دارند که به -ed و -ing ختم می‌شوند.
For example, excited and exciting, surprised, surprising, tired and tiring, discouraged and discouraging, terrified, terrifying, confused, confusing.
برای مثال، گوینده یک نمونه برای روشن‌تر شدن کاربرد می‌آورد.
The -ed ending describes the way you feel.
پسوند -ed احساس شما را توصیف می‌کند.
Anna felt excited that the circus was coming to town.
آنا از اینکه سیرک به شهر می‌آمد، هیجان‌زده بود.
The -ing ending describes the thing that makes you feel like this.
پسوند ing- چیزی را توصیف می‌کند که باعث می‌شود چنین احساسی داشته باشید.
The circus was exciting.
سیرک هیجان‌انگیزی بود.
There's a lot more about adjectives to come but you'll have to wait until after another dialogue to find out more.
چیزهای بیشتری در مورد صفت‌ها وجود دارد که در ادامه خواهیم گفت، اما برای کسب اطلاعات بیشتر باید تا بعد از یک گفتگوی دیگر صبر کنید.
Whoa, wasn't that movie great?
وای، مگه اون فیلم عالی نبود؟
It was so exciting.
خیلی هیجان‌انگیز بود.
I was just excited to be here with you.
من فقط از اینکه اینجا با شما بودم هیجان‌زده بودم.
The hero in it was so powerful and his acting added so much value to the story.
قهرمان داستان بسیار قدرتمند بود و بازی او ارزش زیادی به داستان می‌بخشید.
I think spending time with you is so valuable.
به نظرم وقت گذروندن با تو خیلی باارزشه.
Did the bad guy scare you?
آیا آن مرد بدجنس تو را ترساند؟
I thought he was terrifying.

معمولاً وحشت می‌کردم، اما چطور می‌توانستم وقتی تو اینقدر نزدیک بودی، بترسم؟
I really liked that movie.
من واقعاً آن فیلم را دوست داشتم.
I really like you.
من واقعاً از تو خوشم می‌آید.

این خوبه.
Let's go see it again.
بریم دوباره ببینیمش.

Listen again, paying particular attention to adjectives with -ed and -ing endings.
دوباره گوش دهید، و توجه ویژه‌ای به صفت‌هایی که به انتهای آنها -ed و -ing اضافه می‌شود، داشته باشید.

آیا آن مرد بدجنس تو را ترساند؟

من واقعاً آن فیلم را دوست داشتم.
I really like you.
من واقعاً از تو خوشم می‌آید.
That's nice.
این خوبه.
Let's go see it again.
بریم دوباره ببینیمش.
Just as a suffix is a word ending, a prefix is a word beginning.
همانطور که پسوند پایان کلمه است، پیشوند آغاز کلمه است.
prefixes can mean the opposite of or can alter the meaning of the word in other ways.
پیشوندها می‌توانند معنای متضاد کلمه را داشته باشند یا معنای آن را به روش‌های دیگری تغییر دهند.
Examples of the opposite prefixes include in, insecure means not secure, dis, disable means notable, ill, illegal means not legal, in, immature means not mature, un or un, unwelcome means not welcome.
مثال‌هایی از پیشوندهای متضاد عبارتند از in، insecure به معنی ناامن، dis، disable به معنی قابل توجه، ill، illegal به معنی غیر قانونی، in، immature به معنی بالغ نشده، un یا un، unwelcome به معنی غیر خوشایند.
Notice that the main stress of the word is always on the word after the prefix.
توجه داشته باشید که استرس اصلی کلمه همیشه روی کلمه بعد از پیشوند قرار دارد.
Not all prefixes however give words the opposite meaning.
با این حال، همه پیشوندها معنای متضادی به کلمات نمی‌دهند.
Some prefixes alter the meaning in other ways.
بعضی از پیشوندها معنی را به روش‌های دیگری تغییر می‌دهند.
For example, anti means against, anti-nuclear, non means not, non-profit, over means more, over achiever, pre means before or already, pre-packaged, self means relating to me, self-evaluation, under means not enough, undercooked.
برای مثال، گوینده یک نمونه برای روشن‌تر شدن کاربرد می‌آورد.
Note that these prefixes are given equal stress to the words after them because it changes or adds meaning to the word.
توجه داشته باشید که این پیشوندها به کلمات بعد از خود استرس یکسانی می‌دهند، زیرا باعث تغییر یا افزودن معنی به کلمه می‌شوند.
It's time for another dialogue.
وقت دیالوگ دیگری است.
The characters in the following scene will be demonstrating, you guessed it, prefixes.
همانطور که حدس زدید، شخصیت‌های صحنه‌ی بعدی پیشوندها را نشان خواهند داد.
Watch closely.
از نزدیک تماشا کنید.
That referee was really immature.
اون داور واقعاً بی‌عرضه بود.
He learnt the other team away with so many illegal things.
او با کلی کارهای غیرقانونی، تیم حریف را از میدان به در کرد.
He was just like a piece of undercooked chicken because thinking about him makes me want to throw up.
او درست مثل یک تکه مرغ نیم‌پز بود، چون فکر کردن به او باعث می‌شود دلم بخواهد بالا بیاورم.
He tried too hard to make people like him instead of concentrating on the game.
او به جای تمرکز روی بازی، خیلی تلاش می‌کرد که مردم از او خوششان بیاید.
He was the biggest over achiever that I have ever seen.
او بزرگترین کسی بود که تا به حال در زمینه کسب امتیاز، رکوردشکنی و موفقیت داشته است.
It's completely his fault that we lost 75 to know.
کاملاً تقصیر اوست که ما ۷۵ تا را از دست دادیم تا بفهمیم.
It was always going to be hard but he made sure that it was impossible.
همیشه قرار بود سخت باشد، اما او مطمئن شد که غیرممکن است.
Now you'll understand how easily the meaning of a word can be changed by adding a simple thing called a prefix at the start.
حالا متوجه خواهید شد که چقدر راحت می‌توان با اضافه کردن یک چیز ساده به نام پیشوند در ابتدای کلمه، معنی آن را تغییر داد.
See if you can figure out which prefixes change the meaning to the opposite and which ones alter the meaning in other ways as the scene repeats without subtitles.
ببینید آیا می‌توانید بفهمید کدام پیشوندها معنی را به متضاد تغییر می‌دهند و کدام‌ها با تکرار صحنه بدون زیرنویس، معنی را به روش‌های دیگری تغییر می‌دهند.

Earlier we recapped the various verb forms we had learnt.
پیش از این، ما اشکال مختلف فعل را که آموخته بودیم، مرور کردیم.
It's time to introduce a new form, the narrative.
وقت آن رسیده که فرم جدیدی را معرفی کنیم، روایت.
Narratives are stories, usually set in the past, that use time to organise them.
روایت‌ها داستان‌هایی هستند که معمولاً در گذشته اتفاق می‌افتند و از زمان برای سازماندهی آنها استفاده می‌شود.
They are about events and can either be oral spoken stories or printed written stories.
آنها درباره رویدادها هستند و می‌توانند داستان‌های شفاهی یا داستان‌های مکتوب چاپ‌شده باشند.
When we read a narrative we must understand the order of events in the story.
وقتی روایتی را می‌خوانیم، باید ترتیب وقایع داستان را درک کنیم.
To do this we use the following questions to determine if the action is past simple, past perfect simple, past continuous or past perfect continuous.
برای انجام این کار، از سوالات زیر استفاده می‌کنیم تا مشخص کنیم که آیا عمل گذشته ساده، گذشته کامل ساده، گذشته استمراری یا گذشته کامل استمراری است.
Is it a single action or is it repeated?
آیا این یک عمل واحد است یا تکرار می‌شود؟
Is it an instant action or is it long?
آیا این یک اقدام فوری است یا طولانی مدت؟
Did it start before the main events and continue after them?
آیا قبل از وقایع اصلی شروع شده و بعد از آنها ادامه یافته است؟
To better illustrate narratives, and in particular the various verb forms that are used within them, watch the following dialogue.
برای بهتر نشان دادن روایت‌ها، و به ویژه صیغه‌های مختلف فعل که در آنها استفاده می‌شود، گفتگوی زیر را تماشا کنید.
A very long time ago, in fact it was last year, a young princess was forced to leave her home because she was prettier than the queen, who by all accounts was very vain.
خیلی وقت پیش، در واقع پارسال بود، یک پرنسس جوان مجبور شد خانه‌اش را ترک کند چون از ملکه که از همه نظر خیلی مغرور بود، زیباتر بود.
Yes Dopey, she was afraid, so she ran into the forest.

There's always something new to learn about verbs.
همیشه چیز جدیدی برای یادگیری در مورد افعال وجود دارد.
Now we will find out more about the continuous verb forms.
حالا بیشتر در مورد شکل‌های استمراری فعل یاد می‌گیریم.
Continuous verb forms in the past can show that the action lasts for a while and it was shouting for ages before she got Abby's attention.
افعال استمراری در گذشته می‌توانند نشان دهند که عمل مدتی طول کشیده و مدت‌ها قبل از اینکه توجه ابی را جلب کند، فریاد زده شده است.
Show that the action is repeated, I was singing that song all day.
نشان دهید که عمل تکرار می‌شود، من تمام روز آن آهنگ را می‌خواندم.
Show an action that is in progress at a particular time and it was just finishing the cake when the birthday girl arrived.
عملی را نشان دهید که در یک زمان خاص در حال انجام است و درست زمانی که دختر تولد از راه رسید، داشت کیک را تمام می‌کرد.
Show a situation which is temporary, Jim had been visiting friends in Christchurch for a week.
موقعیتی را نشان دهید که موقتی باشد، جیم به مدت یک هفته به دیدار دوستانش در کرایست‌چرچ رفته بود.

خب، تا الان که تمرین را یاد گرفتید، برای کمک به درکمان از افعال استمراری، به سراغ یک گفتگوی دیگر می‌رویم، نوار را رول کنید.
